I fully support the station at Leimert Park! I am very surprised that Metro even considered eliminating it. That's the heart of the Crenshaw District. It needs to be there!

I am also always in support of faster transit, and for that reason support separated guideways where the trains can go faster and save time (subway, elevated, at-grade separated from traffic). I am not as familiar with the current design of the project, but it seems to me the choices are elevated, which would certainly negatively impact the Crenshaw corridor (aesthetically, for traffic impacts, and will make it harder to improve the area), or subway. Obviously subway makes the most sense along Crenshaw Blvd.

You hit the nail on the head when you say that it needs to be built RIGHT! Metro has a long history of wanting to just build rail on the cheap without regard for traffic impacts, time savings for passengers, and pure common sense! For example, see the Gold Line through Highland Park, Expo phase 2, and the Eastside extension. I worked on the Expo Line phase 2 and know first-hand how they're seriously (and sometimes intentionally!) screwing up the planning and design of rail. Once it's built, it's there for decades. It should be done right!
